Medical courier
Carriage for clinics, labs, and practices that need a defined handoff. You set the packaging and the clinical time limit.
Medical courier is the movement of material that a clinic, laboratory, pharmacy, or practice cannot treat like ordinary mail. Searches for medical courier, medical courier service, and medical courier Canada usually come from people who already know their own protocol and need a carrier to follow it. Gonaug’s role is carriage under your notes. This website does not claim a medical licence, a laboratory accreditation, or a temperature-controlled fleet.
You pack to your standard. You label the time limit and the handling conditions in language a driver can follow without opening the container. If the limit is clinical — a specimen that must reach a bench by a clock time — say that the deadline is clinical, not merely convenient. Emergency medical courier means you state the hours. The word emergency, alone, does not create a vehicle.
Who requests medical courier
Community clinics sending specimens to a laboratory. Practices moving devices or supplies between sites. Pharmacies with a delivery that is not a general retail parcel. Research groups moving non-hazardous materials under their own rules. Veterinary clinics with a similar need should say so, because the receiver and the packaging still have to be explicit. Medical courier in Ottawa and in other cities is the same service with a local address, not a different clinical standard.
This page is not a careers page. Medical courier job requirements and medical courier independent contractor searches are hiring queries. Gonaug is not publishing roles, pay, or contractor terms here. If you are a shipper, continue. If you are looking for work, this site will not describe a job that has not been posted.
What you must specify
The pickup site and the receiving bench or desk, including after-hours rules. The outer packaging. Whether the container may be x-rayed, left in a hot vehicle, or held overnight — your answer, not an assumption. A phone number for a person who understands the protocol if the receiver is delayed. Piece count. And a plain statement of anything hazardous. Undeclared dangerous goods are refused. A medical purpose does not waive that refusal.
Gonaug does not supply validated coolers, data loggers, or specimen bags on this website. If your protocol depends on those tools, use your own and say what the driver must not do. Do not ask a courier to interpret a lab requisition or to decide that a sample still looks viable. That judgment stays with you.
How the handoff should close
Name the person or the department that may sign. A hospital loading dock and a clinic front desk are different places. If the campus has a specific receiving window, write the window. Combine the trip with same-day or scheduled service when the calendar requires it. Repeat clinic runs are a schedule, not a series of surprised phone calls.
City logistics still apply. A Toronto hospital district, a Vancouver campus, or a Montreal clinic will have its own security desk. Tell us the public entrance you are allowed to use. We do not claim relationships with any health authority or hospital.

Limits that protect the shipment and the driver
No invented chain-of-custody certificate. No published temperature range. No statement that every STAT request can be met. What you do get is a quote based on the lane, the clock, and the handling note you were willing to write down.
If the item is actually an ordinary office supply for a clinic’s administration, it may belong on business courier instead. Use the medical page when the contents or the deadline are clinical. Mixing the two in one sentence is fine if you label which piece is which.
Clinical deadlines, written so they can be followed
Medical courier Canada requests arrive with a protocol already in the sender’s hands. The missing piece is usually the translation of that protocol into driver behaviour. “Keep cool” is not a temperature. “STAT” is not a clock. Write the latest receive time and what should happen if that time is missed: return, hold in a defined place, or call a named person who can change the instruction. Emergency medical courier is that sentence plus a lane that can actually be driven.
Outer packaging should show the handling note without showing a patient’s story. A requisition with unnecessary personal detail does not need to be taped to the outside. Piece counts matter because a missing vial is a clinical problem, not a customer-service adjective. If two sites exchange material on a pattern, schedule it. On-demand is for the day the pattern breaks, not for every draw.
Hazardous specimens, dry ice, and other regulated materials are not implied by the word medical. If they are part of the shipment, say so before pickup and expect that the job may be declined. Gonaug does not publish a dangerous-goods licence on this site. A refusal is a successful outcome when the alternative is an undeclared container in a vehicle.
Campus geography is part of the clinical plan. The public lobby, the laboratory receiving door, and the clinic back entrance are different addresses even when they share a street. Medical courier in a particular city, including Ottawa, uses that city’s traffic and that entrance. It does not use a special legal status. Administration supplies for the same clinic can travel as ordinary business courier if you label them separately from clinical material. Do not mix an unmarked carton of paper with a timed specimen and hope the distinction survives the loading.
Separate the clinical piece from the office piece
If a run carries both a timed specimen and a box of ordinary supplies, label them as two instructions. The supplies can wait. The specimen cannot, and the driver should not have to infer which carton is which. Give the laboratory the name you want announced at receiving, and give the driver that same name. If a site closes for a staff meeting, that closure is a cutoff. Write it. Repeat runs belong on a calendar so the bench is expecting the container. One-off emergencies belong in a quote that states hours remaining, not only urgency. Keep personal health details off the outside of the package and out of the quote form. The handling note can be specific about time and temperature behaviour without narrating a patient’s history.

Questions people ask
Do you provide medical packaging or coolers?
No. The sender packs to their own protocol and tells the driver what not to do with the sealed container.
Are you a licensed medical laboratory courier?
This site does not claim a medical licence or laboratory accreditation. Carriage follows the handling notes you provide.
Can a specimen travel same day?
Often that is the point. State the clinical deadline and both addresses so the window can be judged.
Is this a hiring page?
No. Job requirements and contractor terms are not published here.
Send the lane, not a guess.
Pickup, delivery, timing, and a plain description are enough to start.
